MY RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PICKUP

2008 My relationship with the pickup, photo documentation of an action. 

The work is part of the ( City Project ), which was a project that started as a Curatorial collaboration between Shirwan Xan, Sherko Abbas and Rebeen Hamarafiq ( myself ) under the name of the organization Art Art Labour.

The Idea was to work inside the city as a medium instead of concentrating on the result to be shown in a gallery space, but rather a series of actions happening in the time and spaces of the city, which at the time happened between Sulaymaniyah and Erbil. 
This work was a record of a daily route between my house and the Directory of publishing house whish was my job place. every day there was a little twist depending on the the relation that happened to establish between me and this Pickup who were parking at the same place everyday. but according to his mood, my route hade to make a little change, if the driver had the mood to park perfectly, then I had to walk extra few metres and go around the pickup; some days he wasn't parking perfectly, then I had space to walk between the pickup and the wall. The little extra metres were a minor problem in general, but the work wanted to show that every object in the city have relation with our lives on a daily basis, and we are in continuous relation with every aspect inside our cities.
